Science 37 Named Clinical Informatics News Best Practices Award Winner

At the heart of faster cures and better treatments is clinical research. It is the process through which new drugs, medical devices and biologics are brought to market. It is the way in which we advance medicine to deliver improvements in care and hope for a healthier tomorrow.

But this process – so crucial to patients and populations – is inefficient. Drugs consistently have a 15 to 18 year development cycle, with a cost that often exceeds $2.5 billion. Eighty-five percent of research sites fail to meet recruitment goals, and the average dropout rate is 30 percent.

The need for innovation in clinical research has never been more clear, and the desire to not only improve but also totally transform the process has never been so great.

That’s why we’re honored to have our work with LA BioMed recognized as a Clinical Informatics News Best Practices Award winner. Through radical collaborations like these and a patient-centered approach, we are working with local care circles, leading health systems, industry and government to leverage the power of mobile technology and telemedicine to bring clinical trials to patients’ home. We are proud to be among the innovators who – with determination and partnership – are helping to transform the industry, and we are excited to continue to serve as a pioneer in making clinical trials more personalized and efficient.
